Sage is a companion app for people navigating perimenopause and menopause, including those exploring the overlap with ADHD. Because Sage handles information about your health, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what we collect, why, how it is stored, who it is shared with, and the choices and rights you have.
Sage is operated by Shashank Shekhar Vats, an individual developer ("we", "us", "Sage"). For any privacy questions or requests, contact us at sagewellness.app@gmail.com.
For users in the European Union / EEA and the United Kingdom, we act as the "data controller" for the personal data described in this policy.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your health information to serve advertising.
Sage includes an assistant that generates responses using a third-party AI provider. We currently use Anthropic (the Claude family of models) accessed through Anthropic's API. When you send a message to the assistant, the content of that message — which may include health information you choose to share — is transmitted to Anthropic solely to generate a response back to you.
Under Anthropic's commercial API terms, your inputs and the outputs are not used to train their models. We send only the content needed to answer your request; we do not send your name, email, or account identifiers to the provider as part of the message. Anthropic may retain the request transiently to process it and for limited safety/abuse-monitoring purposes under their terms.
Please use judgment about what you share with the assistant, and remember it is not a medical professional and can be inaccurate (see "Not medical advice" below). If we change AI providers, we will update this policy.
We share information only with service providers that help us run Sage, and only as needed:
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the service.
Your account and health data are stored in the European Union (Ireland). Some service providers we use may process limited data (such as AI messages, or diagnostic data) in other countries, including the United States. Where data leaves the EU/EEA or UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the providers' standard contractual clauses.
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete specific entries, they are removed from your active records. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data from our systems, except where we are required to retain limited information to comply with legal obligations. Backups are cycled out on a rolling basis.
To exercise any right, use the in-app controls or email sagewellness.app@gmail.com.
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, access controls that restrict each account to its own data (enforced at the database level), and reputable infrastructure providers. No online service can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to limit who can access it. If we become aware of a data breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by applicable law.
We understand that health data — including reproductive and menopause-related information — can be sensitive in the context of legal or law-enforcement requests. We do not voluntarily provide your personal data to law enforcement. We will only disclose data where we are legally compelled to do so by a valid and binding legal process, and we will seek to narrow or challenge requests that are overbroad or improper, and to notify you where we are lawfully able to. Storing your data in the European Union provides additional legal protection in these situations.
Sage is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 16 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Sage provides information and self-tracking tools and is not a medical device or a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The in-app assistant does not provide medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional about your health.
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
